Why Is PageRank So Important

PageRank will shows how important Google thinks your site is. A higher score shows that Google holds more value to your site. A lower score shows that it is either new or Google does not think it is important enough to give a higher score to.

New sites will either have a score of N/A or 0. Usually Google will update this and you will get a new score if you have quality backlinks.

How Does Google Decide What Your PageRank Is

Your rank goes off of a couple of different things. First is the importance of the links that are pointing back to your site. In other words backlinks. Your backlinks should come from other high rank sites. You can also get authority backlinks that are relevant to your niche. Getting authority backlinks from edu and gov sites can be very helpful.

Blogging is a great way to get relevant backlinks. You need to leave a quality comment however. You could get marked as spam if you go around leaving generic comments.

What Are Other Important Factors For Ranking

Although your score plays an important part of your ranking it is not all that ranks you in the search engines. You should also have good on site SEO. Google will favor your site if you have used SEO properly.

Your keyword density and quality content count as well. Although this does not have to do with PageRank it does have to do with how Google decides to rank you. Google does not like to see duplicate content. Make sure that the content on your site is spun or original.

Use the Google PageRank checker periodically to check what your site is at. Then improve where you can to make your score better.
